If residents intend to put old carpet by the roadside, the contractor asks that it be cut into strips and rolled and taped.

Public Works employees will continue to pick up white goods, scrap metal and tires. Those items should be placed between the sidewalk and roadway, or at the edge of the roadway.

They should not be placed under power lines, in ditches, in driveways or near fire hydrants.

City employees and the contractor will not remove dead animals, car batteries, construction debris, hazardous materials, whole trees or paint from a property.

Green waste and brush collection days will vary by day and area of the city.

Maps will be distributed to all city residents by city employees.

Recyclable materials that will be accepted include plastic bottles with the code 1 through 5 and 7 on the item, glass of any color, nearly all paper products and food containers made of aluminum, steel and tin.

Items that will not be accepted for recycling include Styrofoam or plastics marked with a 6, books, food waste, plastic bags, light bulbs, hazardous waste, alkaline batteries or items that contain them, clothing, electronic items and waxed cardboard boxes.
