A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in the Nicholson area Thursday morning.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson Chase Elkins said the incident was reported at about 12:15 a.m. that day.

Emergency personnel responded to find that a man pushing a bicycle down the highway was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by an unidentified woman.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but is expected to survive, Elkins said.

Investigation into the accident showed the man was in the road at the time of the accident. Elkins said that no arrests were made or charges pressed as a result of the investigation.
