A new shop on West Canal Street in Picayune can meet the public’s engraving, trophy and personalized gift needs.

Crystal Jeansonne said she bought the business from its previous owner back in August of last year. She kept the client list, but changed the name to RiverBanks.

What started as a business venture operating out of her home quickly grew in three months. That fact, combined with the long drive from her home to town, led to the establishment of a store front at 107 West Canal Street in Picayune.

Jeansonne said the doors to the store opened about two weeks before the spring Street Festival, and so far community response has been good.

From trophies, to knives, to glassware and wood Jeansonne can engrave just about any type of graphic or lettering onto just about anything, so long as it fits in the engraving machine.

Her machine is also capable of engraving rounded objects, making personalizing cups and bowls easier.

Current clients include local schools, clubs, banks and the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce. 

When the Christmas season is in full swing, the business will offer custom engraved ornaments.

Jeansonne said she also plans to bring back the engraved goldfish bowls offered at the last Street Festival, which came with a goldfish and instructions on proper care of the fish. That offer included allowing the child to pick out a goldfish of their choice, decide on a name and have that name engraved on the bowl.

Of all of the items offered at RiverBanks, the best selling item is the cutting board.

Jeansonne said the business can also provide custom gifts for weddings and reveal parties.

“It’s endless what we can do here,” Jeansonne said.
