Graveside Funeral Services for Ronald D. Smith, age 77, of Hide-A-Way Community, Mississippi, who passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 2:00 pm at New Palestine Cemetery.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bro. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.

A native of Pulaski, Virginia, he served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Ron was a retired Air Traffic Controller for Washington Center in Leesburg, Virginia . He was instrumental in setting up the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad, and was a life member. Ron was one of the first cardiac cechs in the field and also served as Chief.

He was a member of the Masons. Ron was a loving husband, father, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy Smith and Pearl Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Danaura Stockstill Smith; his daughter, Donna (Scott) Luttrell; and his caring friend, and caregiver, Philip Foret, and his wife, Penny.
