PRC’s softball team defeats Long Beach on the road

The Lady Devils softball team defeated Long Beach 6-1 Monday afternoon.

Two runs by Shelby Archer and one run each by Taylor Kauzlarich, Madison Gower, Brienne Penton and Harlee Davis gave the team the win, Head Softball Coach Tony Labella said.

For the Lady Devils (15-2, 2-0 Region 7-5A), Archer batted 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBIs, Keigan Pearson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Kauzlarich was 2-for-4.

On the mound, Jayden Davis pitched for four innings and allowed two hits, one run and struck out five batters. Jade Latham pitched the remaining three innings of the game and she did not allow any hits and struck out eight batters.

PRC will resume district play Thursday night at North Pike. The junior varsity team will begin its game at 5 p.m. and the varsity game will begin afterwards.
