John Israel Barnett, a lifelong resident of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away Sunday morning March 11, 2018 at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana at the age of 52. He was a devoted husband, loving father and pops, and a friend to all who knew him. He was also a dedicated member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

He was survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Stefanie Rawls Barnett of Carriere, Mississippi; three sons, Lance (Ashton) Barnett of Bossier City, Louisiana, Lane Barnett of Carriere, Mississippi, Michael (Elizabeth) Barger of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Lexi Barnett of Carriere, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Baylan Barnett of Bossier City, Louisiana, Harper Barnett of Bossier City, Louisiana, Jullian Barger of Austin, Texas, and Lucas Barger of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Lionel (Lourie) Barnett of Carriere, Mississippi and Chris (Carrie) Barnett of Carriere, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Barnett; and his sister, Amy Barnett.

Services will be held at the Burgetown Church in Carriere, Mississippi. The visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. and the funeral service will be at the church on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Wesley Quave, Rev. Shane Giadrosich, and Rev. Kirk Hoelzel will officiate.
