Memorial Services for Denford Milton Stevens, age 79, of Carriere, Mississippi, who passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 12:00 PM, at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. 

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Erwin, North Carolina, he began his Military career in the U.S. Navy, and while there, he joined EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal). Denford was in the Navy for 8 years. He then went into the U.S. Army, as a marine engineer and went to Vietnam during the War. He stayed in the Army until he retired in 1978, as a CW3 Warrant Officer. Denford then went to work for Folger’s Coffee and was there for 18 years until he retired in 1996. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Milton Stevens and Lucille Grace Beasley Stevens; and his brothers, Fleming Stevens and Sammy Stevens.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Carol Anne McCormick Stevens; his children, Cindra (John) Hooper, Eric (Michelle) Stevens, and Sean (Michele) Stevens; his step children, Patricia Massey, JoEllen (Mike) Dietrich, and Bonnie (Matthew) Frierson; two grandchildren, Stacey (Matt) Miller and Joshua (Stephanie) Stevens; 10 step grandchildren, Pamela (Bob) Badeaux, James Massey II, Brandon Dietrich, Lauren Dietrich, Alison (Nathan) Hogan, Aaron Marshall, Matthew Todd Frierson II, Ashlyn Marshall, James Frierson, and Brandon Frierson; four great grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren; his sisters and brother, Faye (Bobby) Pleasant, Jerry Stevens, and Wanda Frye; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and friends.
