Funeral Services for Drew Thomas Whitfield, age 35, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, will be held Monday, February 26, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. 

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Pastor Bo Moeller, Bro. Arthur Lee, and Dr. Larry McEwen, Pastor of Northshore Church, Slidell, Louisiana, will officiate the service.

A native of Picayune, Mississippi, he was a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and University of Southern Mississippi. Drew was an Eagle Scout. He also played in the Picayune High School Band, and the Pearl River County Community Band. He participated in Martial Arts, pool tournaments, and enjoyed Scuba Diving.

Drew was a member of Northshore Church, Slidell, Louisiana, where he worked with the Children’s Ministry. He was a good friend to everyone, and someone who people always knew they could have a good conversation, heartfelt hug, sense of humor, laugh, and smile with. He truly was one of the nicest people to everyone he met.

Drew was a beautiful person with such complete faith and was a joy to be around. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Perry Samrow and Joy Mitchell Samrow; and his uncles, Perry Samrow, II and Richie Whitfield.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Derwin Whitfield and Jeanne Samrow Whitfield; his brothers, Eric (Rachel) Whitfield and Steven (Amy) Whitfield; his niece and nephews, Ethan, Graham, Noah, Jackson, Evie, Emmett, and Asa Whitfield; his grandparents, Toby and Julia Mae Whitfield; his aunt and uncle, LaJuan and Wendall Pigott; his cousins, Amanda (Jerry) Foxworth and their children, Jobe, Audrey, and Mae Ellen Foxworth, and Randall (Emily) Pigott, and their children, Richie and Clara Bonnie Pigott; and many many friends.
