Norfolk Southern Railway to perform railroad track work

Railroad track work by Norfolk Southern Railway will affect Crescent Trains 19 and 20 between New Orleans and Atlanta.

Work on the railroads will take place from Monday through Thursday on the following dates, Jan. 8 through Jan.11, Jan. 15 through Jan. 18, Jan. 22 through Jan. 25, Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 and Feb. 5 through Feb.8, a press release by Amtrak states.

According to the release, southbound train 19 will travel from New York City and end in Atlanta. Once in Atlanta, a bus service will be provided to all passengers, which will have stops in Anniston, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Meridian, Laurel, Hattiesburg and New Orleans. The bus service will not be provided to or from Picayune or Slidell.

Meanwhile, northbound train 20 will start from Atlanta and a bus service will be provided to all passengers from New Orleans to Atlanta, the release said.

Between Friday through Sunday, trains 19 and 20 will operate normally.
