Tressie Sones Hartsel, age 90, of Carriere, Mississippi passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation before the services will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Sones Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be at Sones Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Hartsel was a lifetime resident of Pearl River County, a former mail carrier, and a member of Sones Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Daryl Hartsel of Sones Chapel; two daughters, Jackie Lee of Poplarville, and Cindy Bennett and her husband Morgan of Ceaser; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren

Mrs. Hartsel is preceded in death by her parents L.K. “Lynn” Sones, Sr. and Martha Lumpkin Sones; husband, George “Jack” Hartsel; one son, Randy Hartsel; one daughter, Darla Leahy; and two great-grandchildren.
