Thomas Richard Long, age 94, of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 10 am until 11 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3021 Woods Road, Picayune, Mississippi.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Burial will be Monday, October 16, 2017, at 11:00 am at Westlawn Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.

Arrangements under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Lisa Pridmore will officiate the service.

Born in Youngsville, Louisiana , he was a resident of Gretna, LA, for 46 years, where he was a Vice President in the Oil Service for Innercoastal companies. Tom was a charter member of Westside Christian Church, Algiers, Louisiana . He and Esther retired in Carriere, Mississippi. Tom was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmer Richard Long and Bernice “Bunchie” Denson Long; his daughter, Karen Jean Long; his sister, Dorothy “Dot” Martin and her husband Ivan “Ike”; and his niece, Lynn Martin.

Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of nearly 70 wonderful years, Esther Foster Long; his son, Charles R. Long and wife Martha; and his daughter, Carol Long Walker and husband David; his granddaughter, Victoria Katherine Kaar and husband Cody; his sister and brother in law, Carol Mussemann and husband Glenn; his nieces, Stephanie Ragsdale and husband Scott, and Bonnie Pate and husband Charlie; his nephews, Gary Mussemann and wife Karen, Dr. Frank Mussemann and wife Dr. Helen; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
