A woman bringing items to an inmate at the Picayune Criminal Justice Center was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, while a separate case led to the arrest of two suspects for drug related offenses.

On Sept. 24, Trinity Robbirds, 37, of 3604 21st St., Gulfport, dropping off items for an inmate, was determined to have a warrant out for her arrest when her name was run through the system.

According to reports filed with the department, her warrant was with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear, leading to her arrest in the parking lot of the Criminal Justice Center.

While officers inventoried her vehicle, a bag containing a crystal like substance was found in the glove box, leading her to be arrested for possession of a controlled substance. 

In a separate case that took place on Sept. 26, detectives on patrol in the area of North Monroe Avenue noticed two vehicles parked next to each other in a lot where suspicious activity was ongoing and the smell of a substance suspected to be marijuana was detected, the report states.

The detectives approached and spoke with the people in the lot, later noticing a digital scale and marijuana in the back seat of a vehicle that through investigative procedures was determined to belong to 21-year-old Daramie Dajuan Magee, of 402 Fifth St., the report states.

While speaking with a second suspect, identified as 24-year-old Kenneth Terrell Stevens, of 315 N. Monroe Ave., the detective noticed a cigarette pack on the passenger side seat of the same car. Inside the pack, the detective found a rock like substance suspected to be crack cocaine, later determined to belong to Stevens.

Magee and Stevens were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a school or church, the report states.
