Picayune Police Department finds more of the drug in two busts

Four people were arrested for possessing heroin in response to community complaints that alleged drug activity was occurring at a home on Jeff Wheat Road,

According to reports filed with the Picayune Police Department, narcotics investigators and officers with the Picayune Housing Authority went to 202 Jeff Wheat Road on Oct. 10, to find it was without power and the front door was open. Narcotics detectives made contact with four suspects at that time, 28-year-old Ashley Marie Pierce of 202 Jeff Wheat Rd., 24-year-old Chase Wencsloa Sanchez of 32 Luke Lane, 42-year-old Richard Glen Steen of 202 Jeff Wheat Rd., and 30-year-old Jeremy Dan’yelle Antoine of 117 Zion Church Rd., McNeill, a press release from the department states.

Sanchez, Antoine and Steene were seen exiting the master bedroom of the home, at which time officers noticed Steen was holding a syringe that he quickly put in his pocket. All suspects were asked to lay on the floor, which they did without incident, the release states.

A search of the home found a digital scale, a white powdery substance suspected to be heroin, pieces of foil with a white powdery substance suspected to be heroin, plastic bags and syringes, the release states.

Since none of the suspects claimed ownership of the contraband, all four were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a school or church, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school or church and possession of paraphernalia.
