Nate expected to make landfall as a category 2, power companies offering outage maps

According to updated weather forecasts Hurricane Nate will make landfall along the Mississippi Gulf Coast as a category 2.

The storm will make landfall before midnight. Some forecasts state it will do so at 11 p.m. Saturday.

Strong winds and heavy rain is expected. As a result power companies are prepared to respond to outages as soon as it is safe.

Coast Electric Power Company and Mississippi Power Company are both offering power outage maps.

Outages can also be reported through the website, or through each company’s mobile app.
