A Pearl River County man died Thursday afternoon from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The man allegedly walked from his house to the eight-mile marker on Interstate 59 South where witnesses found his body, Picayune Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri said.

Pearl River Coroner Derek Turnage confirmed the deceased is August Pradillo, 73, of 1812 East Lakeshore Drive, Carriere.

Magri said no foul play is suspected.
