Funeral Services for Malcolm Whitfield, Jr, age 78, of Mill Creek Community, Mississippi, who passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

Burial will be in McNeill Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Bishop James Morrissey will officiate the service.

A native of Hancock County, Mississippi, he was a Drywall Contractor and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Malcolm was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him, his family was his life. Anything his family wanted, he saw fit to grant their wishes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Whitfield, Sr. and Rosa Olivia Spiers Whitfield; his sisters, Myra Faye Ladner and Marilyn Gay Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Spiers Whitfield; his children, Malcolm Kent (Marie) Whitfield, Jan (Tony) Jarrell, and Tara (Raymond) Spiers; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Amber) Whitfield, Kelcey (Mason) Becnel, Cody Jarrell, Cade Jarrell, Layton (Abby) Spiers, Collin Spiers, and Landon Spiers; three great grandchildren, Anson Whitfield, Harrison Whitfield, and Owen Spiers; his brother, Vernon (Marissa) Whitfield, his sister, Sheryl (Mark) Freeman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
