Saturday night the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department special response team responded to a community compliant that a woman was allegedly being held against her will.
Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said the call came in Saturday just before 7 p.m. The caller told dispatch that a woman was allegedly being abused, held against her will and threats were made against her life and the lives of her children, Tucker said.
Members of the department’s special response team went to the home to investigate, located at 245 Beaverwood Road.
After securing the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Sean Ermert, who lives at the home, further investigation into the call determined there was evidence of a possible assault and that she was allegedly being held against her will. As a result of those findings, Ermert was arrested for felony aggravated assault, Tucker said.
Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said investigators worked the scene until 1 a.m. Sunday.
Ermert is currently out on a $30,000 bond, Ogden said.
