Charles Hillard Kellar

Charles Hillard “C.H.” Kellar passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He was 89 years old, a native of Picayune, Mississippi and a long resident of Pearl River, Louisana.

C.H. served in the U.S. Army (Calvary) during WWII.

He was well known for his turkey hunting skills, loved to hunt and fish, grow his vegetable gardens and worm beds.

In his later years, loved to dance with his second wife, Ercell, and was very proud of the trophies they had won. He was a member of Flat Top Unity Baptist Church.

C.H. was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wesley Kellar and Annie Lenore Stuart Kellar; his son, Keith Kellar; his granddaughter, Amy Kellar; his first wife, Billie Joe Tate Kellar; and his five sisters, Ethel K. (Wilson) Frierson, Lavon K. (Buck) McCarty, Adell K. (La Vail) Frierson, Onel K. (Smitty) Smith, and Ruby K. (Otis) Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ercell M. Kellar; his sons, Steve (Marty) Kellar and Ricky (Juan) Kellar; his daughter Debbie (Scott) Klein; his stepson, Wayne (Christe) Bennett; and his sister, Shirley Ann (Tommy) Holden. Loving grandfather to five grandchildren, SGT Charlie (Rachael) Kellar, Jason (Deanna) Kellar, Brandon Klein and Jake Klein. Great grandfather to five great grandchildren, Brooke Kellar, Caitlyn Kellar, Jalynn Kellar, Hana Rose Kellar, and Hailely Kellar; and many nieces and nephews.

He was loved from the bottom of our hearts and will be missed so very much.

Funeral services for “C.H.” Kellar will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at noon at McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
