Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Donald Parker will be officiating, and Rev. Harold Broussard Jr. will be the eulogist.

Helen Beatrice was born on March 23, 1941 to the late Brady and Mary Richardson and raised by the late Claude and Carrie Richardson in Picayune, Mississippi.

She was employed with Hotel Dieu Hospital and University Hospital for many years. She would want all of you to know “Don’t be sad be joyful and rejoice that she’s in Heaven. Be strong and uplift each other.” Helen Broussard, 76, completed her life on earth on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Highland Hospital in Picayune.

She is preceded in death by:  her parents, Brady and Mary Richardson; her adoptive parents. Claude and Carrie Richard; two sisters, Mattie Jackson and Vera Reese; and five brothers, Brady Richardson, John Richardson, Eugene Richard, Albert Richard, and Alvin Richard.

Helen was blessed with a loving family. She leaves to cherish so many good memories, her husband, Lawrence Broussard Sr. (and his four daughters and five sons); three daughters, Doris Miles(Mark), Angela Smith and Stephanie McDonald;  two granddaughters, Danyelle McDonald and  Monique Smith; three grandsons, Jonathan McDonald (Danielle),  Gregory  Smith Jr.(Michelle) , and Nicholas Miles three great-grandsons, Colby Smith, Jayden McDonald, and Dylan McDonald; two sisters, Melba Walls (Ezollie) and Emma Lawrence; one brother, John Richard; Sister-in-laws, Mary Helen Richardson, Dorothy Reese, Louise Richard, Sarah Richard, Myrtle Broussard, and Juanita Richard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery.  Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home
