Memorial Services for Dwyer W. Cooke, age 81, of Picayune, Mississippi who passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Father John Noone will officiate at the service. 

A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was a tugboat captain and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran who served from 1952-1956 and a US Merchant Marine Officer for over fifty years.  Dwyer was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #73. He was a very devout Christian who loved his Lord and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald William Cooke and Katherine Schanz Cooke; sister, Sally Ann Cooke Powers.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 60 wonderful years, Susanne M. Cooke; sons, Michael W.

Cooke and wife Diane, John Cooke and wife Maylen, David D. Cooke and wife Becky; daughters, Kristin Ann Cooke, Katherine L. Smith and husband Bart; grandchildren, Mandy (Jim), Sara, Timothy, Jenifer, Megan (Randy), Adam, Nick, Bryce, Hannah, Nikki (David), Jessica, Jennifer, Britnie, and Halie (Daniel); great grandchildren, Jason, Morgan, Tyler, Randy, Brayden, Ryder, Trevor, Emily, Lauren, Layken, Lexi, Rueben “Spud”, Colbey, Brantley, Madalyn, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Emily, Eric, Easton, and Andrew; great great granddaughter, Natalie Rose.
