Narcotics detectives with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department worked several cases that involved drug violations recently, leading to the arrest of six suspects.
From May 15 to 23 narcotics detectives conducted controlled purchases of prescription narcotics, hydrocodone, from 35-year-old Tasha Fenerty of 1406 Holly Court, said Sheriff David Allison.
As a result of those purchases, a search warrant was secured and served at the home, resulting in the discovery of 83 pills of the drug and a firearm, Allison said.
Fenerty was arrested for transfer of a controlled substance, three counts of sale of a controlled substance, four counts of conspiracy to sell a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Allison said.
Her bond was set at $316,000 and if convicted on all offenses she could face up to 315 years in jail, the sheriff said.
In a separate case, detectives attempted to locate two people with warrants with the department at a home at 927 East Canal Street, identified as 39-year-old Brandy Treadway of 294 Lakeview Drive, Carriere, and 53-year-old Andre Johnson of 927 East Canal St. on May 17. The sheriff said that when detectives arrived, they spoke with Johnson and three other individuals at the home, identified as 40-year-old Jamie Brumfield, of 119 Pecan Street Poplarville, 34-year-old Whitney Glidewell of 38 Cybur Hill, Carriere, and 35-year-old Stanley Aultman of 803 Lakewood Drive. While speaking with Johnson, paraphernalia was noted to be in plain view, leading to all of the suspects being arrested for possession of paraphernalia, Allison said.
A search of Brumfield found a dirk knife in his possession, leading to an additional offense of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
In the subsequent search of the home, the detectives found methamphetamine, evidence that controlled substances had allegedly been sold out of the home and the paraphernalia.
Johnson was additionally arrested for the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.
Treadway was not home at the time. Allison asks anyone with information concerning her whereabouts to call 601-798-5528.
In another case worked May 22, narcotics detectives teamed up with agents from the United States Border Patrol and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics to apprehend 32-year-old Paul Simmons Jr., of 1810 Adcox Road for multiple felony warrants, Allison said. Simmons had allegedly been on the run for some time and was wanted by the Sheriff’s Department for drug related charges and by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for failure to report.
Allison said agents with MBN received information about a vehicle Simmons could be driving, which was last seen at his girlfriend’s house on Adcox Road.
Agents and detectives arrived at the home and spoke with a female occupant, who said only she and her child were at home. However, while speaking with her, the officers could hear movement in the background, leading to them enter the home in search of Simmons.
During that search, Simmons was seen climbing into the attic. The detectives and agents could then hear him in the attic until he fell through the drywall into a bedroom, at which time he was taken into custody for nine felony warrants.
Allison said five of those warrants were for sale of a controlled substance, two were for conspiracy to sell a controlled substance and the last two were for transfer of a controlled substance. Simmons was also arrested for a warrant with MDOC for not reporting for his parole, Allison said.
