Funeral Services for Martha Emma Brooks Welch, age 92, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, will be held Monday, June 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Lisa Pridmore will officiate the service.

A native of Jasper, Ala., she was a retired LPN and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Emma was a substitute teacher for years in Chalmette, La. and Picayune. Emma was a loving mother, Granny, sister, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred C. Brooks, Sr. and Flossie Lena Johnson Brooks; her husband, Clyde M. Welch, Sr.; her son, Clyde M. Welch, Jr.; her sisters, Bondell Adams, Gaynell Burks, and Catherine “Kate” Hycth; and her brother, Alfred C. Brooks, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Welch, Patricia Gardere, and Glenda (Johnny) Dwyer; 4 grandchildren,Clyde M. “Kippy” Welch, III, Michael Wood, Melissa (Kevin) Mesa, and Travis Dwyer; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Ruby McCullar and Renee Brooks; and her brother, Frank (Pat) Brooks.
