Inez T. Serpas, age 83, of Carriere, Miss., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Inez was born on May 21, 1934. A resident of St. Bernard, LA., and after Hurricane Katrina, relocated to Carriere.

She was retired from Federal Agriculture Research Center and a member of the Lutheran faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathieu Tamor and Florence Schulz Tamor; her husband, Claude J. Serpas; her sisters and brothers, Louise Blocker, Josephine “Billie” Haynes, Theresa “Tessie” Stanley, Walter Tamor, Raymond  Tamor, and Sebastian  “Bappy” Tamor; and the father of Donald Taylor, Lester “Fritz” Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donald J. Taylor, Billy G. (Sheree’) Serpas, Tammy M. (Tom) Grey, and Kitty L. (Ed) Stein; 3 grandchildren, Beau A. (Katie Marie) Serpas, Shana S. (Aaron) Adamson, and Kayla L. Stein; 3 great grandchildren, Adele Rain Thompson, Ainsley Victoria Serpas, and Connor Alan Serpas; her sisters and brothers, Elise Samrow Hoschar, Richard Tamor, Lucille “Minnie” Guerra, and Ronald (Linda) Tamor; her sister in law, Lettie Tamor; the mother of Beau, Faith R. Rasmussen; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services which will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Father Joseph Trinh will officiate the service.
