Funeral services for James Samuel Drummond, Sr., age 98, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park 5434 Old Birmingham Hwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. Local arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Dr. Keith Warden will officiate the service.
A native of Ralph, Ala. and retired business owner of Park Supply in Picayune, Miss., Sam was a member and usher of First Baptist Church of Picayune. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Master SGT.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ephram Drummond and Stella Pearson Drummond; his wife of over 60 years, Laurette Ford Drummond; his brothers, Cecil Drummond, and George Drummond; and his sisters, Lois Guillot and Mary Wade.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Samuel (Rhonda) Drummond, Jr., George Daniel “Dan” Drummond, and Mark Dwain Drummond; his 3 grandsons, Dr. James Joel (Amy) Drummond, D. Todd (Avril) Drummond, and Jeremy L. Drummond; his 7 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Curtis E. (Dorothy) Drummond.
