Hardin arraigned in Pearl River County court

Steven Todd Hardin, a former NJROTC instructor at Picayune Memorial High School, was arraigned in Pearl River County Circuit Court Tuesday on four counts of sexual battery and two counts of sexual battery while in a position of trust, 15th District Attorney Hal Kittrel said.
Hardin was arrested by the Picayune Police Department May 3 at Northeast Lauderdale High School, where he was employed as an NJROTC instructor, previous coverage states.
Hardin will be tried under Circuit Court Judge Claiborne “Buddy” McDonald, Kittrel said. His first appearance will be July 31 where a trial date will be set, Kittrel said.
He was indicted by a Pearl River County Grand Jury April 25, according to indictment documents.
Hardin is accused of having inappropriate relations with a student during the 2015-2016 school year. He has since posted an $180,000 bond.
