Bertie J. Bounds Hunsinger, 73, of Hillsdale, Miss., passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Hattiesburg, Miss. Bertie was born on December 29, 1943 in Purvis, Miss. to the late Edna and Willard Bounds. Bertie and Melvin F. Hunsinger were married on April 25, 1982. Bertie had a big heart and loved her family and friends dearly.
Bertie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, Bertie was preceded in death by her brother, James (Jimmy) Bounds; sister, Wanzie Willis and her oldest son, Billy Ray Frierson Jr.; and one step-son, Dennis Hunsinger.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin (Mel) Hunsinger; sons, Scott Frierson, Matthew Frierson and Barney Evans; step-daughter Diann Leri; sister, Kaye Fontenot; brother, Jerry Bounds.
She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9 , 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 South, Poplarville, MS, 39470. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service..
