Memorial services for William Lloyd Laughlin, 85, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Family Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.
A native of Missouri, he was a Broadcast Engineer, a former US Army Veteran during the Korean War, a Purple Heart Recipient, and a member of First Christian Church of Greater New Orleans. During his career in television, Bill accomplished many things, helping to bring the first color TV camera to the New Orleans area, he spent a number of years working at WDSU and WLAE, and he worked with Archbishop Hannan as his chief engineer for FOCUS TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bryan Laughlin and Bessie Klein Laughlin; his sister, VivianĀ  Pierce; and his nephew, Thomas Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 62 wonderful years, Betty Judd Laughlin; daughters, Rebecca Lestelle and husband Dennis, Cynthia Ann Jackson and husband Gil, Mary McClellan, Susan Needham and husband Art, Elizabeth Meche and husband Lonnie, Jenifer Morel and husband Patrick; son, William B. Laughlin II and wife Idalynn; grandchildren, Aimee and Clinton Scroggs, Sarah Lestelle, Ivan and Melissa Jackson, Darby Gil and Julie Jackson, Colby McClellan, Caitlyn McClellan, Stephanie and Ashton Stephens, Blake Ybarzabal, Nicole and Brad Groce, Lindsey Franz, Ashley Franz, Christina Morel, and Travis Morel; great grandchildren, Haidyn, Sage, Drew, Kate, Myles, Max, Andersyn, Lukas, Marcus, Aaron, Stella, and Susie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
