Funeral services for Leisha Deneane Whitfield, age 56, of Salem Community, Miss., who passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mill Creek Baptist Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Elder Terry Robertson and Elder Gary Sumrall will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, Miss., she was Vice President and operations manager of Farm Direct Sod, Inc. and a faithful member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Leisha was a loving daughter, mother to Haden, sister, niece, cousin, and friend to many, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an animal lover. Leisha was best known to all for her tender heart and compassionate caregiving.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie B. Whitfield, Jr.; her paternal grandparents, John B. Whitfield, Sr. and Violet Whitfield; and her maternal grandparents, George Dewey Bounds and Lucy Mae Bounds.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Betty Lou Bounds Whitfield; her brother, Bradley Whitfield and wife Barbara; her great nephew, Haden Whitfield; her niece, Halei Love; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
