Steven A. Ladner

Steven A. Ladner, 50, a lifelong resident of the Steep Hollow community in Poplarville, Miss., went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Ochsner Baptist Medical Center in New Orleans after a courageous battle with A.L.S.

Steven was born July 11, 1966 in Ocean Springs, Miss. to Reginald Ladner and Norma Gill Ladner. A self-made man, he worked many years for MCC of New Orleans before going into business with two partners to form JEM Mechanical. Years later he opened Ladner Mechanical Contractors and retired due to his illness. Steven was a strong family man and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeler riding, and the outdoors. He was an active member of Crane Creek Baptist Church; and spent many years as a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church. Above all, his faith and service to the Lord was paramount in his life.

His parents precede him in death.

Family members include is his wife, Gina Hiatt Ladner; four children, Magan Brooke Ladner, Natalie Audrie Ladner, Steven Alex Ladner, Noah Phillip Ladner; his grandmother, Johan Quave Gill; three siblings, Tina Marie Ladner Vance, Reginald Ladner, Alice Rene Ladner; two grandchildren, Brinklee Mae Ladner, Steven Ayden Ladner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phillip E. Hiatt and Mary Jane Martinez.

A Rosary service will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12 Bilbo Hill Drive, Poplarville, Miss., 39470 on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.

Visitation will be at Steep Hollow Baptist Church, 2336 Highway 53, Poplarville, Miss., 39470 on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and will be ongoing until funeral services on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Rev. Harry Davis will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Smith (Old Steep Hollow) Cemetery.

Steven was a selfless man who helped anyone in need and will be sorely missed by his family and all who came to know him.
