Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at The Greater Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Edward Stubbs will officiate and Rev. Donald Parker is Pastor.
Sherman Jeanette Mickel-Vince, 65, was born September 4, 1951 to the late Earnest James and Christine Stubbs Mickel in Bassfield, Miss.  She was educated at G. W. Carver High School, where she was a graduate of the class of 1969.  She continued her education in New Orleans, La. where she received her Associates Degree in Business.
She joined Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev.  Dr. E.L. Fox.  She later united with New Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Edward Stubbs.
Sherman united in holy matrimony on December 7, 1972 to Louis E. Vince. She was employed for many years at Brockway Standard until her retirement. She enjoyed her morning cup of coffee daily with Louis, gardening, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Mostly she enjoyed her church activities and spending time with her family.
Sherman answered her master’s call on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Stephen J. Vince; and two brothers, Charles Quinn and Rev. Donald Wayne Mickel.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of 44 years, Louis E. Vince; her nephew whom she raised as her own, Corey Mickel; three brothers, Harold (Janie) Mickel, Antonio Mickel, and Christopher Scott Mickel; two sisters, Audrey Mickel Williams and Cathy (Mack) Bell, all of Picayune, Miss.; three sisters-in-law, Margaret, Annie, and Pearlie Mae Vince, all of Pearlington, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service.  Interment will be in Picayune Cemetery.  Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home.
