Funeral Services for Johnny Robert Baker, Sr., age 76, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Harold Manning will officiate the service.
A native of Greenwood, Miss., Johnny was a long life resident of Picayune, Miss. He was a Band Director for several schools. Johnny was the founder and director of the Pearl River Community Band of Picayune. Johnny was a member of First United Methodist Church of Picayune.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie Lee Baker, Sr. and Evelyn Juanita Fraiser Baker.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Georgia Kay Watts Baker; his children, Becky (Mark) Charlton and Johnny Baker, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Kanaan Baker, Alex Alley, Conner Baker, Will Alley, Grant Baker, and Quentin Baker; 1 great-grandson, Gannon Baker; his brother, Bobby Lee Baker, Jr.; and his sister, Bonnie Provine.
