Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 12:00 noon in Hart’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Charles Drew Walker,  84, of Carriere, Miss. who died Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Carriere, Miss. Rev. Kenneth Martin Thomas will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Carriere Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of De’Lo, Miss., he was the owner of Walker Trucking Company, a member of New Hebron Baptist Church and a member of NAACP.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mrs. Savannah Walker; parents, Hance Walker and Isabelle Ayers Walker; one sister, Lola Walker; and 3 brothers, Wallace White, K.W. Walker, and Hance Walker, Jr.
Survivors include 2 sons, Robert and Charles Timothy Walker, both of Carriere, Miss; 3 daughters, Shirley Ceaser, and Carolyn Walker Brown, both of Carriere, Miss., Patsy Walker Scott of Jacksonville, Fla.; 2 sisters, Bobbie Mell Smith, Jackson, Miss., and Lillie Walker, Jackson, Miss.; 1 brother, Sylvester Walker, New York City, New York; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Hart’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
