The Biloxi Police Department investigated a case involving two Picayune residents allegedly kidnapping a pair of tourists and later fleeing with the victim’s car, Biloxi Investigator Nick Sonnier said.
On Feb. 17 at the 800 block of Beach Boulevard in Biloxi, two suspects, later identified as Colton Delaughter, 23, of Picayune and William Jason Stockstill, 26, of Picayune, held two individuals at gunpoint while they were unloading their luggage at a parking garage, forcing the victims inside their own car, Sonnier said.
The suspects then allegedly took the victims to multiple ATMs around the Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian areas and forced them to withdraw cash, Sonnier said.
After numerous withdrawals, the victims allegedly took the money and left the victims on the side of the road in the Bay St. Louis area, fleeing the area in the victim’s 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, Sonnier said.
On Feb. 18, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle and Delaughter, who was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Lenoir Rowell Criminal Justice Center in Millard for two counts of kidnapping and one count of carjacking, a Biloxi Police Department news release states.
On Feb. 19, Stockstill was found traveling through Richland and was arrested by the Richland Police Department for two counts of kidnapping and one count of carjacking, the release states. Stockstill was then sent to the Rankin County Adult Detention Center.
Both suspects were transported to the Biloxi Police Department on Feb. 20 where they are each being held on $750,000 bonds, according to the release.
A court date has not yet been scheduled.
