Claude Louis Slade, 93, of Poplarville, Miss., died Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Pearl River County Hospital, Poplarville.
Funeral services will be at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 75 Powell Lane, Lumberton, MS 39455 on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Joe Beach will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until services, Saturday at the church.
Mr. Slade was born October 10, 1923 in Lamar County, Mississippi to George Slade and Julia Martin Slade. He was a dairy Farmer, a field representative for Dairymen, Inc., and worked with the USDA in Poplarville, Miss. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Daisy, Annie, Eva Mae, Letha; five brothers, Willie, Alphus, Arthur, Leonard, Luther; and one grandson, Patrick Anderson.
Family members include six children, Joanne Bennett, Beth Scruggs, Gloria Anderson, Eugene Slade, Leroy Slade, Danny Joe Slade; one sister, Arnettia Coffey; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Spring Hill Baptist Church.
