Funeral services for Carolyn Annette Rhodes-Dorsey, 60, will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Hart’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor George R. Tillman will officiate. Interment will be in the Hart’s Chapel Cemetery.
Sister Carolyn A. Rhodes-Dorsey was born on June 21, 1956 to the late R.J. Rhodes and Anner Graham-Rhodes. On February 13, 2017,   Sis. Carolyn’s time on this earthly journey came to an end and she transitioned to her heavenly home.
Sister  Carolyn was married to the late Eugene Dorsey (who preceded her in death). Carolyn was united with Hart’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. J.W. Porter.
After graduating from high school, she moved to Chicago, Ill.  It was in Chicago that she became as a licensed cosmetologist and established her own business.
Carolyn loved the Lord and the beautiful church music. Her favorite song was “Precious Lord”.  She became a member of the Community Covenant Church  under the leadership of Pastor Marshall in Chicago, Ill.  She served on the scholarship committee and was a member of the choir.
Carolyn A. Rhodes-Dorsey was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Earnestine Rhodes. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory four step-children, Ruth Dorsey, Truigenia (Trink) Dorsey, Eugene (Kia) Dorsey and Mark Dorsey; two brothers, Earnest ( Evelyn) Rhodes and Jeffery (Wynetta) Rhodes both of Poplarville, Miss.; three sisters, Inez (Rev. Charles) Thomas  of Kiln, Miss.; Susan (Edward) Loper and Charlotte Blond both of Poplarville, Miss.; one uncle, Nathaniel Rhodes; two aunts, Desiree Raine of Poplarville, Miss. and Marcellar Smith of Chicago, Ill. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that are left to cherish her precious memories. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home of Picayune, Miss.
