Picayune boy’s gives PRC bad luck in the Friday 13 rival bout

The Maroon Tide mounted a 66-31 victory against the Blue Devils. Picayune dismantled Pearl River Central early on, allowing only two field goals up to the 3-minute mark in the third quarter.

Tide’s Stephane Ayangma scored 22 points and nine rebounds and Marvun Arnold matched Ayangma with nine rebounds along with seven points of his own. Gary Travis pitched in with nine points.

PRC’s Louis Reece went scoreless in the first half, but finished with a team-high 17 points. Blue Devils’ Jason Long was the lone scorer of the first half for PRC, and ended the night with 12 points.

 

Lady Tide rolls back in epic fashion to clinch a rival victory against PRC, 43-35

With less than seven minutes to go in the game, Picayune assembled three steals on consecutive Blue Devil possessions, giving the team its first lead of the night.

Picayune’s leading scorer Alanna Smith had 19 points and Taliesha Quinn added 10 points for the Tide.

PRC’s Harlee Davis led the Blue Devils with 16 points and teammate Brooklyn Howe added nine.

 

Poplarville boy’s outlasted Purvis 42-38

Hornets star player Tamiljah Merrill led his team through the storm against the Purvis Tornadoes Friday night. Merrill notched 18 points in the Hornets’ road to victory.

 

Purvis outlasts the Lady Hornets, 64-54

Tornadoes’ Kennedy Hudson etched 21 points for Purvis Friday night.

Hornets’ Mallory Smith led Poplarville with 16 points, Jasmine Merrill scored 13 and Zanaisha Turner and Lizzie Hughes both added 10 points.
