Funeral service will be held Monday, December 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Triumph Baptist Church, Poplaville, Miss. for Mr. Dewitt “Lucky” Woodard, Jr., age 78, of Poplaville, who died December 20, 2016 in Poplaville.
Rev. Tommie Hart will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Rose Park Cemetery under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
A native of Poplaville, Miss., he was self-employed and a member of Triumph Baptist Church.
Mr. Woodard is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dewitt Woodard, Sr. and Lucille Johns Woodard; 1 son, Timmie Woodard; 1 brother, James Donald Woodard; and 1 sister, Patricia Beasley.
He is survived by his wife, Maybell Woodard, Bogalusa, La.; 3 sons, James Woodard, Charles Woodard, both of Bogalusa, La., and Michael Dates, Missouri; 7 daughters, Mary Ann Woodard, Bogalusa, La., Annette Magee, Chirlan Woodard, Angela Smith, all of Poplaville, Miss., Janet Smith, Arkansas, Tina Dates, and Patricia Dates, both of Vicksburg, Miss.; 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Lillian Bonner Poplaville, Miss.; and 2 brothers, Larry and Leroy Parker, both of Poplaville, Miss.
Visitation will be held December 26, 2016 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. in Triumph Baptist Church.
