A Poplarville man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being involved in a single vehicle accident Wednesday.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said the accident was called in at about 3:35 that afternoon.
Investigation into the accident showed that a 1995 Lincoln Towncar traveling north on U.S. 11 left the roadway on the right-hand side, causing the driver, 27-year-old Bennie Tessiniar of Poplarville to overcorrect to the left, Elkins said.
The vehicle then left the road on the left side near Mitchell Baughman Road, rolled on the driver’s side and impacted a power pole, trapping Tessiniar in the vehicle for several hours until he could be extricated by emergency personnel.
Elkins said there were no passengers in Tessiniar’s vehicle.
