Funeral services for Vera Frierson Beech, 59, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 with her family by her side, will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Nicholson.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Nicholson.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. R.T. Buckley will officiate the service, assisted by Bro. Jim Slowey. Brent Harrell will provide the music, per Vera’s request.
A lifelong resident of Picayune, MS, she retired in January 2016 after 38 years of service with the Picayune School District, first as a teacher and then as an administrator. Vera was a member of First Baptist Church of Nicholson. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, friend, and Mumzy to her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, T.J. Frierson.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Irma Kellar Frierson; her husband of 34 years, Gary Kyle Beech; her children, Mary Beth (Matt) Murphree, Lisa (Josh) McGloflin, and, Kyle Beech; her 2 grandchildren, Jack Murphree and
Violet Murphree; her brothers, Keith (Marietta) Frierson, Terry (Judy Beebe) Frierson, and Toby (Sherry) Frierson; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Beech; her father-in-law, Vernell Beech; her brother-in-law, Mike (Cheryl) Beech her sister-in-law, Rose (Ronnie) Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vera dedicated her life to the children in the community. A scholarship fund has been set up in memory of Vera at First National Bank of Picayune, P.O. Box 848, Picayune, MS 39466, for the benefit of future education majors from Pearl River County.
