Beverly Berry Bertucci

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home for Beverly Berry Bertucci, age 85, of Picayune, Mississippi, who passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Highland Community Hospital.
A native of Baton Rouge, La., she was preceded in death by her parents Roy Lester and Nieves Franco Berry and her husband of 55 years-Gerald Leonard Bertucci, Sr., and her brother George A. Berry.
A resident of Slidell, La. for many years and of Picayune, MS since 1986, she was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and served as Commander, the Women Republicans Club, the Bayou
Liberty Garden Club of Slidell, and past president of the Garden Club of Picayune, the Newcomers Friendship Club, the Lively Lakers, the Pearl River Red Hats,
the Crew of Lost Treasures of Slidell and co-founder and past president of Le Cotillion of Slidell. She was a graduate of LSU and held two master’s degrees from Tulane University. She was employed as an educator and guidance counselor for the Orleans Parish Public School system from 1961 to 1986. She also worked with the GED program for the St. Tammany Parish School Board for many years.
Survivors include two sons- Gerald Leonard “Jay” Bertucci, Jr., and Roy Berry Bertucci and wife Elizabeth of Lafayatte, La., three daughters-Donna Bertucci-Rogers and husband Thomas of River Ridge, La., Diane Bertucci Fortner and husband Edward of Cummings, Ga., and Constance Bertucci Swiler and husband Steven of Pensacola, Fl. She is also survived by seven grandchildren- U.S. Army Major Robert Beckwith (Retired), Justin Schmidt Arnold, Eric, Shea and Scott Swiler, Jax and Jarod Bertucci, and three great grandchildren- Andrew and Luke Beckwith and a daughter of Shea Swiler to be born in May of 2016.
Visitation will be held at Picayune Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30m. a. on Thursday, December 17, 2015, followed by a mass celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, Ms. Following the mass.
