Poplarville law enforcement officers are currently investigating a commercial burglary that occurred early Friday morning.
At about 4 a.m., the Poplarville Police Department was notified by an alarm company the alarm at Little River Outdoors, located at 1214 S. Main St., had been activated, Poplarville Police Department Capt. Rossie Creel said.
Upon arrival, officers realized the store had been burglarized, Creel said.
Several guns and ammunition were reported missing, which the business owner estimates to be anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 worth of goods, Creel said.
There are no suspects at this time and officers are actively following all leads, Creel said.
An anonymous donor has offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the successful arrest of the suspects involved, Creel said.
“We don’t want stolen guns on our streets in the hands of criminals,” Creel said.
Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact the Poplarville Police Department at 601-337-5905, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department at 601-795-2241 or Pearl River County Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583).
