Ollie Mae Currie, age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, June 8, 2015.  Ollie Mae was the daughter of Joe and Edna Reyer.  She married Daniel Currie January 9, 1947 in Poplarville and they later moved to Picayune.  She worked several years as a clerk at TG & Y and Gibson Pharmacy.  Ollie Mae loved to attend Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she had been a member since she was baptized, July 12, 1953.  Her favorite pastime was working in her flower garden.  She would spend a lot of time setting outside enjoying her many flowers and watching the birds. She is survived by her son, Joseph Leroy Currie of Poplarville; her daughter, Patricia “Pat” Burge, and her husband Louie of Picayune; two brothers, Louis J. Reyer of Grand Bay, Alabama and his wife Carmen and Ray Reyer and his wife Linda of Petal; one sister, Doris Wheat of Laurel; three grandchildren, Rev. Charles Daniel “C.D.” Currie and his wife Jennifer, Lori Sheppheard and her husband Scottie, and Keri Leigh Barousse and her husband Mark; six great-grandchildren, Anthony Sheppheard, Tyler Sheppheard, Noah Currie, Kyleigh Barousse, Greyson Currie, and Kyndal Barousse; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe W. and Edna Varnado Reyer; her husband, Daniel S. Currie; two brothers, J.O. Reyer and Joseph Edward Reyer, and an infant son. The visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Her funeral service will be Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Flint and Bro. Bud Putnam officiating.  Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
