Funeral Services for Dr. Martin LeRoy Berry, age 68 of Picayune, MS, who passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Berry Family Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Josh Braddy will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS, he served the community as a veterinarian at Berry Veterinary Clinic for 38 years. In addition to his profession, Dr. Berry was a past president of the Picayune Rotary Club, the Pearl River County Development Association, and the Child Abuse Education Council. He was a long time member of Partners for Stennis and a consistent supporter of the PYAA and Christian Care Ministries. He served as president of the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce and was voted Picayune Citizen of the Year in 1995. Martin was a lifelong Boy Scout, serving on the Executive Board of the Pine Burr Area Council. He lived his life by their code. His commitment to his community was rivaled only by his love and care for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Donald Ray Berry and Theo Marie Larson Berry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann Underwood Berry; his children, Stacie Berry Pierce, Jarrad and Kelly Berry, Jacob and Erica Berry, Jonah Leroy Berry, and Jordan Elizabeth Berry; his grandchildren, Sarah, Calvin, Dominick, Landon, Madilyn, Taylar, Aaliyah, Barrett, and Judah; and his sisters, Janice McQueen, Janelle Foster, and Jolene Berry. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends
