Funeral Services for LeAnnice Elizabeth Asher, age 65, of  Mount Olive, AL, who passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 3:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, MS, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. LeAnnice taught school in the Picayune School District for 33 years at Southside Elementary, teaching both second and third grades. Being a devoted mother and grandmother, when she retired, LeAnnice moved to Birmingham, AL to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crafting and shopping in her free-time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lamar “Cotton” Asher and Anice L. Bennett Asher; brother, Terry F. Asher; sisters, Maisie I. Asher and Dorothy Asher Rigby.

Survivors include her daughter, Lelia G. McCloud and husband Scott; grandchildren, Emma Reagan McCloud and James Roman McCloud; brothers, Joseph L. Asher,  Richard “Lavern” Asher and wife Carolyn; sister, Joycielyn A. Nameth and husband Phillip; great nieces and nephew, Angelina, Hailee, and Hayden.
