Mr. Lawson (Pete) A. Lee, age 85, of Leetown Community, released his spirit into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Picayune, MS. He was born on May 15, 1929.

Pete was preceeded in death by his parents, Alexander and Ruth Lee; his daughter, Wanda Gail Lee; his siblings, Woodrow Lee, Robert Lee, Edith Hoda, Lillian Spiers, Marvis Spiers, and Verna Jordan; and his grandson, Alex Lee.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Lee; his children, Pamela Lee (Gene) Stenum, Gary (Renae) Lee; his grandchildren, Beki (Jack) Ferrill, Billy Donelson, Chase Lee, and Kimberly (Jake) Hess; his great grand-daughter, Eden (Matt) Hill; his adopted great grandson, Joseph “Peanut” Hill; and his great-great grand-daughter, Charlie Elyse Hill.

Pete served as the elder deacon and was an active member of Lee’s Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church located in Leetown Community, North Hancock County. He served our nation in the United States Army as a private first class and was honorably discharged in 1950.

He worked as a machine shop lead man and retired from Struthers Wells, Gulfport, MS, in the 1990s.

He was a master mason and a member of the Moses Cook Lodge #11.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pete’s life on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Lee’s Chapel No. 2.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral and graveside services immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lee’s Chapel No. 2 Family Life Center Fund, 27015 Leetown Road, Picayune, MS 39466.
