Today is Christmas Eve. The majority of people will spend this day shopping for last minute gifts for their loved ones.
At the end of the day and before sending the children to bed, the residents of Nicholson, Carriere and McNeill may want to travel to a local church to reflect on the spiritual reasons for the season.
Below is a listing of area churches that will be hosting activities this evening.
Emmanuel Baptist Church located at 5 Shorty Burgess Road in Nicholson, will host a candlelight service from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. According to Deacon Mark Moseley, people are invited to sing carols while holding a candle.
Central Baptist Church located at 20 Sones Chapel Road, McNeill, will host their candlelight communion service at 6:30 p.m.
The First Baptist Church of Carriere located at 7264 Hwy. 11, will host their regular church service beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Church of the Way is located at 6509 Hwy. 11 in Carriere. Holy communion will be offered at 7 p.m. The church will also host a New Year’s Eve prayer meeting beginning at 7 p.m.
