Mrs. Lyda Smith Davis went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2014 at 11:00 am surrounded by her loving family in her home.

Funeral Services for Lyda Smith Davis will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Wayne Wilson will officiate the service, music will be provided by Mrs. Wayne Wilson, Tyler and Micah Branch.

A native of Picayune, MS, she was a Homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Picayune. She was known as a prayer warrior for the Lord. She is now a flower in the Master’s Bouquet. She had a love and a talent for cooking. No one ever left her home hungry, whenever you entered her home you knew you were welcome to a hot meal and a loving environment filled with the love of the Lord and went away with full stomach and left-overs for the next meal.

She was preceded in death by her husband W. B. Smith; parents, Morris Lumpkin and Oneita Spiers Lumpkin; four brothers, Tommy, Fred, Rufus, and Jim Boye Lumpkin.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Davis Jr.; two daughters, Geneva Martinez and Sarah Jean Smith-Stilwell and husband Gary; sister, Evelyn Reese; six grandchildren, Emma Carroll Branch and husband Winton, Tommy Carroll, Antonia McCarty and husband Shawn, Paul Martinez and Jennifer, Cynthia Nielsen, and Melissa Verret and husband Eddie, eleven great grandchildren, Tyler and Micah Branch, Sarah and Amanda McCarty, Jake and Kaley Martinez, Nicholas Nielsen, James Carroll, Derek Robinson, Edward Verrett IV, Mikey Stilwell; great great granddaughter, Hannah Carroll; numerous nieces and nephews; four step daughters, Linda Crowe and husband Russell, Patricia Frierson and husband Mike, Brenda Aaron, and Carolyn Mayo.
