Working relationships with nearby law enforcement agencies helped the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department conduct two sets of drug related arrests.
The first case began on Sept. 15 when Picayune Police Department officers assisted Mississippi Department of Corrections officers with a home inspection at 56 Rouse Road, said Sheriff David Allison.
The Sheriff said that during the inspection law enforcement officers arrested 41-year-old Teresa Rouse, 32-year-old Jonathan “John Boy” Stockstill and 32-year-old Warren Gonzalez, after methamphetamine and firearms were found in the home.
Picayune Police officers advised the sheriff’s departmant that precursor chemicals were at the home leading to search warrant being served, Allison said.
In addition to the chemicals, the detectives found evidence that all three were using multiple forms of identification to purchase pseudoephedrine, which is a cold medication that can be used to manufacture methamphetamine, Allison said.
Due to the finding a vehicle and another firearm were seized, Allison said.
“We believe this firearm was brought to the residence after the previous day’s search,” Allison said.
Rouse, Stockstill and Gonzalez were subsequently transported from the Picayune city jail to the county jail in Millard and each booked on the charge of possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, Allison said.
A hold was placed on Stockstill by MDOC for the parole violation, Allison said.
The second case occurred on Sept. 18, where narcotics detectives were asked to assist drug court officers with a home inspection at 35 Jessica Lynn Dr., in Lumberton.
Allison said the home was occupied by 29-year-old Seth Wells and during the inspection officers recovered a shotgun, synthetic marijuana, liquor and a large amount of drug paraphernalia, which were all a violation of his participation in the drug court program.
The findings during the search led Wells to be charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of liquor in a dry county, Allison said.
Wells was also discovered to have a warrant out for his arrest from a previous driving offense, leading him to also be charged with the warrant, Allison said.
The sheriff would like to thank the Picayune Police Department, MDOC and drug court for their assistance in these cases.
“We’re thankful for the good working relationship we have with them,” Allison said.
