Funeral Services for Doris S. Thigpen, age 86, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Monday, October 27, 2014, will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Dr. Keith Warden will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS, she was a retired Bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune.
She was preceded in death by husband, Otto Kenneth Thigpen; parents, Joseph Smith and Alma Mitchell Smith; grandson, Cory Eden; sister, Lucille Pearson; brother, Joseph “Joe” Smith Jr.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lorraine T. Eden, Annette Thigpen; son, Jerry Kenneth Thigpen; five grandchildren, Robert G. Eden and wife Patti; Mitchell Eden and wife Tanya, Jeremy Thigpen, Jessica Thigpen, and J. J. Thigpen; three great grandchildren, Madison Eden, Cameron Eden, and Hayes Kerr.
