Funeral Services for Clarence R. “Junior” Penton Jr., age 84 of Carriere, MS, who passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014, will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 10:00 am at Central Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2:30pm in Biloxi VA National Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Billy Galloway will officiate the service.
A resident of McNeill, MS, he was a Brickmason and a member of Central Baptist Church. Clarence “Junior” was a true American Hero. He served our country proudly as a POW for 32 months, during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence R. Penton Sr. and Ofa Jane Martin Penton; and his sisters, Irma Wilbanks and Edith Seals.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lavert Lumpkin Penton; his daughter, Melinda Shaw and husband Brad; his 2 grandchildren, Anthony and Dominick Vitale; and his sisters, Clara Fore and Vondell Adcox; his brother, Donald Penton and wife Kathleen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
